Sherry Gay-Dagnogo: A Voice for Education, Equity and Detroit Families

For decades, Sherry Gay-Dagnogo has been a steadfast advocate for children, families and equitable education in Detroit. A lifelong Detroiter, educator and public servant, she has built her career around one central belief: that access to quality education and strong public policy are foundational to thriving communities. Before becoming Madam Ombudsman Sherry Gay-Dagnogo, M.Ed., she served as a State Representative in the Michigan House of Representatives and as a member of the Board of Education for the Detroit Public Schools Community District, bringing both classroom experience and legislative leadership to the fight for equity. In every role, she has transformed conviction into concrete change.
Sherry Gay-Dagnogo is a woman who shifted the city, turning advocacy into action.
