In recognition of Women’s History Month, Tashawna, known as “The Political Princess,” continues to use her platform to uplift civic leadership and highlight the impact of African American voices across Michigan. Through her work supporting and amplifying initiatives like the African American Leadership Awards, an experience created to recognize public servants, business leaders, and community advocates, Tashawna helps celebrate the legacy and contributions of Black leadership locally, regionally, and statewide. The awards, launched through the vision of Brenda Lawrence, have grown into a powerful gathering that unites elected officials, labor leaders, and community influencers committed to advancing issues that impact African American communities. By shining a light on these achievements and continuing the conversation around civic engagement, Tashawna represents a new generation of voices dedicated to honoring the past while encouraging continued leadership and progress for future generations.
